Slacker

Can I start by making up excuses? Last week was crazy busy and with the holidays flying in it makes things just that much CRAZIER!!!!!!

It is defiantly looking like a Caldwell Christmas at our house. Our tree has been up since right before Thanksgiving and I am not a fan of jumping holidays but If I did not put it up at that very moment it might not be up now.  Growing up one of my most favorite Christmas memories was going to the Christmas tree farm with my dad and picking out a tree. We would walk and walk and walk till I picked out the perfect one. And then cut it down and drag it back to load up. And from what I can remember a real tree was high robbery when it came to cost. I would love to do this with Lincoln but I'll have to wait till this tree disintegrates before I can purchase fancy real trees.

I was trying to explain to Lincoln that Santa like Christmas tree cakes. The Little Debbie's kind.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas wrapping paper that does not resemble Christmas. Notice the black paper theme for this year. I wanted chalkboard paper but was not about the pay $8.

Before Lincoln, I have always been afraid of kids. Not really knowing what to say or how to play with them. Which has always made me fall in to the bad aunt category. Now let me start off by saying I am an only. Only child and only grandchild so I have had minimal pediatric exposure. So when it came to my niece and nephew I have always showered with gifts verse physical love. I am trying to work on this. Last Saturday noght I purchased one of the gingerbread man kits from Wally World and took to my in-laws and decorated it with Noah. He did have a grand time.

The rest of the weekend consisted of church and visiting people, Grocery shopping, prepping for the week to come. Blah Blah Blah. The work week went pretty fast but more or less a blur. I have a full weekend this one as well. I hope to give a recap very soon.

Lincoln: 5 Months

Technically this should have been posted on 12-10-13 but sometimes I'm a tad slow and do love to go to bed as early as I am allowed.

 A look at:

Weight: 18lbs- this is not a true weight. They did not stripe you down on the scales for this on
Length: unknown but we will find out next month
Eating: 5-7 oz q3-4 hours- we have started a bit heavier on solids. You really like oatmeal, carrots, sweet potatoes. Peas were a hit till you started gagging on them. We will not give up.
Sleeping: 8-9 hours at night. Although we have not cut out the 2 am cry fest. Once you find those sweet hands you go right to sleep. I am not sure about naps. I swear you never take them.
Clothes: 6-9 months
What you like at the moment: you love to have your diaper changed, or maybe just the changing pad but this is when you come alive. You laugh and squeal every time. The Christmas tree. You love to touch it as well. You are always so amazed by your older cousins and I'm amazed how much they love you. You prefer to sleep on your tummy.

You are the cutest thing, Even when you are having a baby meltdown. I cannot stress how much you love to eat. This like snapshot should explain that.

Cha Cha Changes

Its funny to look at your life in comparison to pre-baby and post-baby. As much as you think you/things don't change they do. Pre-baby I would spend 4+ hours on Saturday cleaning the house. Dust, mop, clean toilets, ect. And now after much begging we have someone clean our house. By no means are we rich to afford "a maid". We are blue collar working as a LPN (low paid nurse) and a Jack Daniels worker, Also we live in a 1950s SMALL house. So this is how we afford someone to clean our house.

Also I have a tad bit of OCD. And by the expression of tad I mean A LOT OCD. You will come to realize this. I would spend  lots of time ironing and starching an entire weeks worth of clothes at a time. And now I pray the dryer will get the wrinkles out. This is something I have recently let go of and I am still trying to adapt. I usually come running into work, on time. Pre-baby I would get to work 45 minutes early and stay an hour late everyday. Not so much now. I'm an on time gal. My hair is also slacking as well. I call it the air dry look. Only problem is it takes a good 30 hours to air dry. I apologize to all the people that think I look homeless. On that note, not all new moms are like this. JUST ME!

This is why I don't care to look homeless....

Weekend Wrap Up

Strangely this past weekend was a tab low key. We had plans for several things but sometimes plans change. Friday was wonderful! Lincoln was in such a good mood and played so well. We planned ventured out to town ( not to Black Friday Shop) but ended up at the doctor. He has been congested with a runny nose for a while. He had some fluid behind one ear so he was started on an antibiotic. We had planned to attend a 1st Birthday Party but decided to stay in.

Lincoln and Daddy watching the Auburn game. So not an Auburn fan but so so so glad Alabama lost. Go Vols!

He loved to look at the Christmas tree.

Sunday we went to church and out to eat with Joseph's mom. The normal after church folks could not go but the company was still nice. I hope the rest of our night is quiet before we are back at tomorrow.
